Rwanda offers Volcanoes National Park for gorilla trekking and a compact, easy-to-navigate road network. Uganda adds Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and a wider range of savannah wildlife. A one-way rental lets you experience both without backtracking.
Choosing the right vehicle

Permits and paperwork
Crossing with a Rwandan-registered vehicle requires a cross-border permit and COMESA Yellow Card insurance, both of which we arrange in advance for one-way and cross-border bookings. Plan for 5-7 days’ notice so everything is ready before your pickup date.
Self-drive or with a driver-guide
For a first cross-border trip, many travelers prefer a driver-guide who can manage the border crossing process directly — handling paperwork at the post while you focus on the journey.
