Arriving in Kigali after a long flight is easier with a driver already waiting at arrivals. Free airport transfers are included with every vehicle rental — your driver meets you at Kigali International Airport (KGL) with your vehicle ready to hand over, or drives you to your hotel while your self-drive vehicle is prepared.

Kigali International Airport is located 15 km east of the city centre. Journey time to most Kigali hotels is 20–40 minutes depending on traffic.

How it works

1. Send us your flight number and scheduled arrival time when booking your rental or transfer.
2. We track your flight in real time — if it is delayed, your driver adjusts automatically. No extra charge for delays.
3. Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name board showing your name.
4. For self-drive rentals: quick vehicle handover and orientation at the airport or your hotel, then you’re on your way.
5. For driver-guide bookings: you’re taken directly to your accommodation to rest before your trip begins.

Free transfer included with every rental

Airport pickup on arrival and drop-off on departure are both included at no extra cost with any multi-day rental — self-drive or driver-guide. This applies to all vehicles in our fleet, from the Toyota Corolla to the Land Cruiser Extended.

Standalone Kigali airport transfers

Don’t need a multi-day rental? We also offer standalone transfers for:

• Kigali airport → city hotel — fixed rate regardless of traffic
• City hotel → Kigali airport — departure transfers with luggage assistance
• Airport → hotel in Musanze, Lake Kivu, or other regions — long-distance airport transfers available on request
• Hotel → hotel transfers in Kigali — convenient for business travelers

Vehicles available for airport transfers

• Toyota Corolla — sedan for 1–3 passengers with standard luggage
• Toyota RAV4 — SUV for 4–5 passengers, more luggage space
• Land Cruiser VX or Prado — 5-passenger 4×4, ideal if you continue straight to a national park after landing
• Land Cruiser Extended — for groups of 6–8 passengers with large luggage

Good to know about Kigali International Airport

• IATA code: KGL. Located in Kanombe, 15 km east of Kigali city centre.
• Airlines serving KGL include RwandAir, Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Qatar Airways and others.
• Arrivals hall has ATMs, a currency exchange desk, and a SIM card kiosk at exit — take a local SIM for your stay.
• Taxi touts are common outside arrivals. Having a pre-arranged pickup is much smoother and safer.
• There is no official Kigali airport bus. Pre-arranged transfers or metered taxis (Yego Moto app) are the standard options.
